driving more traffic to your website

Hello,
This is technically still my first day web hosting and I have to say i have learned alot within the first day of trying to drive people to my website and view my content. This is easy said then done to be exact first i tried to send a bulletin on my myspace account to come check out the site and to leave feedback this showed no results. The real help that i got was facebook. I got onto my facebook and picked targerted people to go check the site out and to replace their status with my website. As these people did more and more people began to check the website because it was like six people's statues. In return i would add them to my website which caused more people to come.

This is a great way to advertise for your website. I am currently waiting for google to crawl threw my website so it can be looked up in google search engines after creating my sitemap.txt file and verfying that i was the owner of the website. Another hard part about the website traffic if you do not sell anything just tell people information its hard to get money.. I am currently using google adsense (which is a ad program to set links on your set for revenue) and it is working just fine not exactly what i expected but nontheless its money right?
